Welcome to Sunya Sleep ("we," "our," or "us"). We are committed to protecting your privacy and ensuring that your highly sensitive biological and psychological data remains yours. Sunya Sleep is designed to minimize what we keep on our servers: we do not store your raw voice recordings or full Brain Dump transcripts after processing, and we do not host your Clarity conversation history in our cloud. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information in compliance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and other applicable privacy laws.
Sunya Sleep is designed to be a safe, private space for somatic regulation and cognitive offloading.
Voice Recordings (Home / Brain Dump): When you use the microphone, audio is captured on your device and transmitted securely to our processing infrastructure and to OpenAI (Whisper) for transcription. We do not persist raw audio files on Sunya Sleep servers after the request completes. OpenAI may retain API inputs for a limited period under their enterprise API terms (see Section 4).
Raw Text Inputs (Home): The transcribed or typed text of your Brain Dump is sent to our servers and to OpenAI for analysis (tasks, nervous-system state, and session scripts). We do not save the full raw transcript in our database. We store only derived fields you see in the app (for example extracted tasks and a state tag), as described in Section 3.
Important: "Zero-Retention" means we do not keep those raw inputs in our cloud after processing. It does not mean data never leaves your device — it is transmitted in real time to subprocessors to generate your results. Clarity and Journey features also send relevant text to AI providers during use, as described below.
We split storage between our encrypted cloud (Supabase) and your physical device.
